Zareh Sinanyan

Mayor of Glendale


Zareh Sinanyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1988 and settled in Burbank, California. In 1997 he earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science at UCLA. He then attended Law School at USC where he obtained his Juris Doctor. After his graduation from Law School, he entered civil litigation service and ran his own Law Office. he is the Principal of the Law office of Zareh J. Sinanyan.

Sinanyan ran for City council on 2014 and won a seat for the Glendale City council. He is the first Armenian-born politician to hold a seat at the City of Glendale City Council. He is now the current Mayor of Glendale. He held positions in the City as Chairperson for the Housing Authority, Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Community Service, Commissioner of Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee, Vice Chair of Eco Rapid Transit Authority and Secretary of the Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena Airport Authority.

Hon. Mayor Zareh Sinanyan and his wife Lori have been married for 15 years with 4 children.
